“TREKKING EXPLORE THE MAUSOLEOS DE LA PETACA AND DIABLO HUASI 3D/2N” is an exceptional three-day trekking experience, ideal for adventurers and history lovers. This trip takes you to discover the enigmatic Mausoleums of La Petaca and Diablo Huasi, revealing secrets of ancient civilizations in an environment of breathtaking natural beauty. Prepare your senses for an adventure full of cultural discoveries and panoramic views that capture the essence of ancestral Peru.

Itinerary

FIRST DAY: LEYMEBAMBA – TAJOPAMPA TREKKING

  • Departure from the city of Chachapoyas to the community of Leymebamba, arrival breakfast and then start our walk from the community of Leymebamba at 8 am, by pre-Hispanic road to the museum of Leymebamba, the most important interpretation center of our culture, which houses 219 mummies in perfect condition with more than 2500 pieces, including ceramics from different cultures, textiles Chachapoyas and Inca style, pyrography gourds, wood carvings and the best preserved quipus of Peru, which were used as offerings by our ancestors the brave Chachapoya. After our visit to the museum we will continue our walk through the canyon of the Condors with typical cloud forest habitat of the Andean Condor, Andean Toucan, Golden-headed Quetzal, Tanagers, hummingbirds and other birds of the place.
  • Arrival to Tambo de Tajopampa where we will spend the night and enjoy the view of the Petaca mountain.

SECOND DAY: VISIT TO THE MAUSOLEUMS OF LA PETACA AND DIABLO HUASI

  • Breakfast at 8 am, then start our hike to the viewpoint of the tombs of the Petaca where the guide will tell you about the beliefs and customs of the people of the Chachapoya culture, likewise during our walk we will have panoramic views of the valley of Tambillo and the mountains of Monte Viudo, the cowshed, Tajopampa, La Joya places where archaeological remains belonging to the brave Chachapoya.
  • After our visit to these mausoleums we will continue our hike to the mausoleums of Diablo Huasi, visit, take pictures and have lunch. Then we will continue our hike to the archaeological remains of the Pueblo de la Bóveda, visit and take pictures with an impressive view of the canyon of the Condors and the Tambillo valley, then return to our camp in Tajopampa for the night.

THIRD DAY: RETURN FROM TAJOPAMPA TO LEYMEBAMBA

  • Breakfast at camp and then we start our return trek to the community of Leymebamba by pre-Hispanic road through the canyon of the Condors with typical cloud forest, habitat of the Andean Condor, Andean Toucan, Golden-headed Quetzal, Tanagers, hummingbirds and other birds of the place. Arrival to the community of Leymebamba and return to the city of Chachapoyas in our private vehicle for your return to your destination city.

IMPORTANT: prices based on a minimum of two persons in a double and/or matrimonial room.

Remember!

  • This hike is recommended for people in good physical condition and who like adventure because there are slopes ranging from 500 meters to 900 meters, during the hiking days.
  • Bring your personal sleeping bags and personal sleeping mats.
  • First day this visit is less trekking most is by car, but in hikes 10 kilometers with a difference in altitude of 500 meters.
  • Second day 12 kilometers approximately with an elevation gain of 600 meters.
  • Third day 19 kilometers uphill with a difference in altitude of 1000 meters and approximately 8 kilometers downhill to reach the community of Leymebamba.
  • You should bring adequate clothing for trekking in the Northeastern Andes, land of the Chachapoyas warriors.
  • Poncho and/or rain jacket.
  • Special hiking shoes and/or sneakers for the mountains.
  • Warm clothes because the place is cold.
  • Medicine if you suffer from any disease such as asthma, altitude sickness, etc.
  • Sun block, repellent, hat and/or cap for sun protection.
  • Provide batteries for your camera to be able to take the pictures you want because in the valley of Huaylla Belen there is no electricity, and the other days there is no problem.
