The Archaeological Monument of Kuelap + the 1st Cable Car System of Peru, the Gocta Waterfall (the 3rd highest in the world), the Sarcophagi of Karajía (unique funerary pattern in the world), the Caverns of Quiocta (the first illuminated cavern in Peru), the Museum of Leymebamba + the Mausoleums of Revash, the Sonche and Huanca Urco canyons.

It was founded as San Juan de la Frontera de los Chachapoyas, on September 5, 1538) is a city located between the jungle and highlands of the department of Amazonas, Peru, capital of the province of Chachapoyas and the department of Amazonas.

Public transportation consists only of white cabs (Yaris cars) with the Chachapoyas coat of arms and flag painted in light blue, green and red.

It is temperate, moderately rainy and with moderate thermal amplitude. The average annual maximum and minimum temperatures are 22°C and 8°C, respectively.

One of the best options for direct travel is by air, from the city of Lima to Chachapoyas, then from the airport to the city of Chachapoyas (15 minutes), using the Explorer Tourism Company. Currently, the only airline operating in this area is ATSA AIRLINES. AIR + LAND ROUTE ✈️ 🚐

Another route is from the city of Lima to Tarapoto by air, then from Tarapoto to the city of Chachapoyas, using buses of the company Turismo Selva or Virgen del Carmen, direct to the city of Chachapoyas with an impressive landscape, leaving from the low jungle to reach the Alto Mayo, a reserve that preserves much of the forest of the high jungle or called Rupa Rupa, and then enter the Amazon region and to observe the changes in ecosystems and beautiful scenery that have both regions. The airlines that operate the Lima – Tarapoto route are: LATAM, STAR PERU, SKY AIRLINE, etc.

Another route is from the city of Lima to Chiclayo by air (LATAM, STAR, JET SMART, etc), then take the buses (Movil, Transportes Chiclayo, Civa, Virgen del Carmen, etc) that leave at night to the city of Chachapoyas by land (10h. trip).

Another route is from the city of Lima to Jaen by air (LATAM), then from Jaen to the city of Chachapoyas, using buses or direct tourist transport, the trip takes 4 hours. We pick up passengers at the airport of Jaen (Shumba) to transfer them to the city of Chachapoyas in tourist transport service. After approximately 4 hours of travel on the banks of the Marañon River, a tributary of the Amazon River, rice fields and a diversity of flora and fauna, we arrive at the city of Chachapoyas.

Another route is from the city of Lima, by air to the city of Cajamarca, then take the buses from that city to the city of Chachapoyas, this route is considered one of the most impressive, for its landscape, deep canyons, mountain ranges, crop fields, rivers and special ecosystems, the route is 335 km long. By land, for this we now have a paved road, which allows us to travel comfortably to the city of Chachapoyas through fertile valleys, deep canyons and very high passes with a varied flora and fauna of our regions of Cajamarca and Amazonas.

The cheapest way to get to the city of Chachapoyas from Lima is by land. There are several transportation companies that provide direct service Lima – Chachapoyas, the trip takes 24 hours by bus. The bus companies that provide the service are: Movil Bus, GH bus, CIVA

Our last option to reach the city of Chachapoyas is from our neighboring country Ecuador, leaving from the city of Vilcabamba to the town of Zumba, then continue our journey to the border between these two countries called La Balsa, then you can continue your journey to the city of San Ignacio, where you can spend the night and the next day continue your journey to the city of Jaen, then you can take buses to the city of Bagua Grande, from where you will take another bus directly to the city of Chachapoyas, this journey is approximately 460 km. With a minimum duration of two days.

Bring comfortable clothes for hiking and rain protection, hiking shoes for the daily tours, additionally bring clothes for the cold because Chachapoyas is located at 2335 masl; also bring sunglasses, sunscreen, sunglasses, hats for sun protection, it is also recommended to bring mineral water and/or a rehydrating drink.

Our climate is varied, especially when it comes to the rainy and dry seasons. The rainy season normally begins in November, but can be brought forward to October and ends in April and can last until May.
